CONTROL Resonant Platforms Guide

See every confirmed CONTROL Resonant platform: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, GeForce NOW, and Mac, plus store options, controller support, and unsupported systems.

CONTROL Resonant launches September 24, 2026, on Windows PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and GeForce NOW, with Mac versions planned later in 2026. PC storefronts are Steam and Epic Games Store; Mac distribution is announced for Steam and the Mac App Store. There are no confirmed PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, or Linux releases.

Platform choice mainly depends on hardware, storefront ownership, physical-copy preference, and edition benefits. Steam publishes official Windows requirements and full controller support, PS5 advertises a Digital Deluxe early-access perk, and Xbox supports Play Anywhere. Broader cross-platform saves and platform-specific performance modes have not been fully announced.

“Not announced” is not the same as permanently impossible, but it should not be converted into a release promise. Remedy's current campaign consistently names current-generation consoles and PC. Any new platform will be added only after an official store or publisher announcement exists.

Windows PC

Windows players can purchase through Steam or Epic Games Store. Steam lists Windows 10 or 11 64-bit, 16 GB RAM, and 100 GB storage for both official requirement tiers, with GPU targets ranging from GTX 1070 or RX 5600 XT to RTX 3070 or RX 6700 XT. Full controller support is listed alongside single-player features.

The Steam Deck compatibility field is Unknown, and the listing does not make a native Linux promise. Proton results from previews or other Remedy games cannot substitute for testing the shipped executable. See the PC requirements guide for the complete specification table.

PlayStation 5

CONTROL Resonant is confirmed for PS5 in digital and physical form. PlayStation's official launch article advertises 48-hour early access with the PS5 Digital Deluxe Edition, in addition to its digital extras. The exact unlock hour and preload schedule remain storefront-controlled.

Remedy has not yet documented final resolution modes, frame-rate targets, DualSense features, or install size in the sources used here. Trailer resolution is not evidence for shipped console performance. A launch comparison will report actual selectable modes and version numbers rather than guessing from video compression.

Xbox Series X and Series S

The game is announced for Xbox Series X|S and supports Xbox Play Anywhere at launch. An eligible digital Xbox purchase can be played across Xbox console, Xbox on PC, and supported Windows handhelds without buying another Xbox Store copy, with saves, add-ons, and achievements following through the Xbox account. Final visual settings, storage footprint, and Series S differences have not been published in detail.

Physical availability can vary because Series S consoles do not include a disc drive. Buyers should match the copy format to their hardware and account region. Xbox Cloud Gaming should not be assumed from GeForce NOW support, because they are different services with separate catalog decisions.

GeForce NOW

Remedy includes GeForce NOW in its launch announcement. This gives players another way to run the PC version through supported cloud hardware, subject to NVIDIA's regions, tiers, session rules, and linked storefronts. It does not mean the game is free with a GeForce NOW subscription.

The exact supported source store should be confirmed when NVIDIA publishes the launch entry. A purchased copy, account linking, and an adequate connection are normally separate requirements. Cloud performance and queue time should be judged against the service tier rather than the local PC specification table.

Mac

Mac support is official but scheduled for later in 2026, not the September launch. Remedy names both Steam and the Mac App Store, giving Mac players two planned purchase channels. No exact date or model compatibility list was available on September 1.

Windows GPU names cannot be translated directly into a minimum Apple chip. Storage, macOS version, Apple silicon support, and memory targets need a Mac-specific listing. Buyers should wait for those requirements rather than pre-purchasing based on an unsupported hardware assumption.

Steam Deck and handheld PCs

Steam currently labels Deck compatibility as Unknown. Full controller support helps with input, but it does not prove performance, text readability, launcher behavior, or video compatibility. A game can support controllers while still missing Valve's Verified or Playable criteria.

Other Windows handhelds may run the game if they meet practical hardware and driver needs, but the official minimum GPU is demanding relative to many integrated solutions. Resolution scaling and low-setting tests will matter more than a simple CPU-name comparison. This guide will add measured handheld results after launch, with device, power profile, and game version disclosed.

Xbox Play Anywhere, cross-save, and multiplayer

Steam identifies CONTROL Resonant as a single-player game, so cross-play is not a meaningful launch feature in the usual multiplayer sense. Xbox Play Anywhere does confirm cross-device ownership and progress inside the supported Xbox ecosystem. It does not grant Steam, Epic, PlayStation, or Mac App Store copies.

Cross-save between Xbox and those other storefronts has not been announced. GeForce NOW can use a linked supported PC entitlement rather than creating a separate console-save ecosystem, while Mac Steam cloud behavior still needs confirmation. Purchase for the ecosystem where you expect to play instead of relying on unannounced migration.

Is CONTROL Resonant on Game Pass or Switch 2?

CONTROL Resonant is not currently announced for Xbox Game Pass or Nintendo Switch 2. The Xbox store lists it for purchase and highlights Xbox Play Anywhere, which is an ownership benefit rather than a Game Pass inclusion. Remedy's platform announcement names PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, GeForce NOW, and a later Mac version.

No Nintendo Switch or Switch 2 listing appears in those official sources. A future subscription or platform announcement is possible, but there is no date to report on September 1. This page will add either option only when Remedy, Xbox, Nintendo, or an official store confirms it.

Which platform should you choose?

Choose PC if your hardware meets the requirements and you value graphics settings, store choice, or GeForce NOW fallback. Choose PS5 or Xbox Series X|S for fixed console hardware and physical-copy options, with PS5 Deluxe offering the only explicitly verified early-access claim in the sources checked. Mac players should wait for the later release and its system requirements.

No platform can be declared best before performance testing. Launch coverage will compare stability, available modes, input, patch versions, and loading under disclosed conditions. For now, the right choice is the supported system you already own and whose edition terms you have verified.

Sources and verification

This page was last verified on September 1, 2026 using Remedy's official worldwide release announcement, the Steam store listing, PlayStation's official launch article, and Xbox Wire's Play Anywhere confirmation. Confirmed platforms are stated as confirmed; unsupported and unannounced systems are not assigned speculative dates. Performance modes, cross-ecosystem saves, and Mac hardware claims remain open pending primary documentation.
